Alex Ballew is a sound bath facilitator, booking agent, and experience producer whose career has moved across talent representation, live events, touring, and immersive sound.
Across every part of his work, Alex has remained interested in the same essential question: what allows an experience to truly resonate with the people in the room? Secret River Sounds grew from that pursuit, bringing together artists, partners, and spaces to create experiences that feel meaningful and fully supported.
THE PATH HERE
A career built through relationships.
Before entering the world of immersive sound, Alex spent six years as a commercial talent agent at People Store, now Formation Talent Agency. The work taught him how to recognize potential, advocate for artists, understand a client’s vision, and guide countless details toward a successful outcome.
His path later moved from representing talent behind the scenes to facilitating them himself. Over the following seven years, Alex led sound baths in settings ranging from intimate gatherings to corporate programs, retreats, and large-scale events.
Through his work with Reciprocity Music, Alex expanded into artist booking, touring, and live production. That chapter included serving as booking agent and tour manager for Tone of Life’s U.S. tour, where he helped carry an ambitious international sound project across the country.
Each chapter gave Alex a different view of the work: the artist, the partner, the production, and the audience. Together, those experiences became the foundation for Secret River Sounds today.

The experience was always the point.
As Secret River Sounds grows, the people experiencing the work remain at its center. The vision is expanding, but the reason behind it has not changed.

Secret River Sounds has grown from Alex’s personal sound practice into a nationwide booking and programming company serving companies, hospitality partners, cultural institutions, and unique spaces.
Alex continues to lead select signature experiences while drawing on a broad network of facilitators to shape and support sound programming across the United States.
